The New Year's Duathlon

The New Year's Duathlon is a FREE run-bike-run format race, with a 2 mile run, 6.5 mile bike, 2 mile run course. The race benefits Girls on the Run - Sacramento, a non-profit agency working to promote health and fitness to young girls.
Since we have reached our first limit of 600 athletes for the New Year's Duathlon, we will open 50 more spots on race day with a $25 entry fee, proceeds of which will be donated to our Official Charity: Girls on the Run – Sacramento. These 50 spots are filled on a first come basis. Registration opens at 7:00.
For the New Years Duathlon there will be an Overall Champion prize for the first overall male and female finisher. There will also be raffle prizes for all competitors who stick around and insert their bib number in the raffle bin. Winners must be present to collect prizes that will include apparel, training equipment and gear, and TBF Racing gift certificates.

Once we have reached our first limit of 400 athletes for the New Year's Duathlon! We will open 200 more spots with a $15 entry fee - $10 of which is donated to Girls on the Run - Sacramento, our official race charity.
NOTE: There is a $12 day use fee to enter the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area at Granite Bay.

Run – The 2 mile run course is the same for both legs of the race. The course will run on granite paths, single track trails, and a small section on pavement with an aid station at the start of the run and the half way point.
Bike - The 6.5 mile road bike course is on closed roads within Folsom Lake State Park. The course has several turns and twisting corners winding through the oak forest bordering Folsom Lake. Care should be taken on several sharp turns so as not to exceed safe speed limits.
Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.
Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at mile one on the run course, serving cold water, and Electrolyte beverage.

Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc…are not allowed on the run or bike course. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line.
After the New Years Duathlon hot soup along with cookies and fruit will be available to all competitors free of charge. Family, friends and spectators can purchase a meal ticket for $5 to help support Girls on the Run Sacramento.
TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.
Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $40 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours. We ask volunteers to reserve a volunteer position at any of our events by emailing Teri@totalbodyfitness.com as our volunteer positions will fill up quickly.
