The ICE Breaker Triathlon and the Ice Breaker Dash Triathlon and Duathlon

This year with the low water at Folsom Lake, the swim for ICE Breaker Triathlon and ICE Breaker Dash Triathlon will take place at Negro Bar, Lake Natomas.
There will be Two Transition Areas for the races this year. T1 will be at Negro Bar, Lake Natomas where the Start of the races and the Swim will take place. Athletes will exit the water and enter T1 at Negro Bar. The bike course will travel on the American River Bike Trail to Beals Point, Folsom Lake and then will take local roads to T2 located at Granite Beach, Folsom Lake.
Ice Breaker Triathlon: .5 mile swim – 13 mile bike – 4 mile run
Ice Breaker Dash Tri: Swim 400 yards – Bike 6.5 miles – Run 2 mile
Ice Breaker Dash Du: Run 2 miles – Bike 6.5 miles – Run 2 mile
The ICE Breaker Triathlon: $60 until 11/31/13, $70 until race day, $80 race day
Relay Teams: $90 until 11/31/13, $100 until race day, $110 race day
Ice Breaker Dash Triathlon or Duathlon: $50 until 11/31/13, $60 until race day, $65 race day
Athlete packets may be picked up on Friday, April 4th at Fleet Feet Sports at 1850 Douglas Blvd. in Roseville from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Race packets will be available race morning from 6:30 am to 9 am at the race site.

Swim - The race starts from Negro Bar on Lake Natomas with a .5 mile swim. The swim course will be a triangular course marked by the large white triangular buoys. Water temperature should be approximately 56 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended. The swim will exit the lake and head up the beach and on a grassy path to the transition area located in the parking area.
Bike - The bike course for the ICE Breaker Triathlon will start with a one way course from Negro Bar, Lake Natomas to Granite Beach, Folsom Lake. The course will travel on the American River Bike Trail to Beals Point, Folsom Lake and then will turn right on Auburn/Folsom Blvd and travel to Douglas Blvd where the course will turn right and continue into Folsom Lake SRA. The bike course will then continue straight on the park road and do one-lap inside the park with a u-turn at Dotons Point before returning to the T2 at Granite Beach parking lot.
Run - The 4-mile run course leaves transition and runs on single-track trails along the lake back towards Beal’s Point. The out and back course has 3 aid stations that will be stocked with water, Clif Beverage, and Clif Shot Energy gels. The finish is back at the start area at the Granite Beach. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.
Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.
Aid stations will be located in the transition area and at mile one on the run course, serving cold water, and Electrolyte beverage.
Awards are for 1st through 5th place in each age group/category for the ICE Breaker Triathlon and 1st through 3rd place in the Ice Breaker Dash.
Expected water temperature for Folsom Lake will be 54-58 degrees. Wetsuits are strongly recommended. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc...are not allowed.
Included for each athlete is an ICE BREAKER tech-tee race shirt, swim cap, athlete goody bag, hot post race meal and free athlete massage.
Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot pasta with salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.
TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.
Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $40 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours. We ask volunteers to reserve a volunteer position at any of our events by emailing Teri@totalbodyfitness.com as our volunteer positions will fill up quickly.
