Race Information:

 

The TBF XTERRA REAL Mountain Bike Triathlon is back with its 1/2 mile swim - 16 mile mountain bike - 4 mile run course and a chance to race with some of the top off-road triathletes in the country as part of the 2015 XTERRA America Tour. The race will be USAT Sanctioned, requiring the purchase of a $12 one-day license with USAT, or the holding of an annual membership card with USAT.

MTB Sprint Triathlon: Swim 200 yards – Bike 6 miles – Run 2 miles
XTERRA Real MTB Triathlon: Swim .5 miles – Bike 16 miles – Run 4 miles

XTERRA Real MTB Triathlon: $85 before 12/1/14, $100 until race day, $110 on race day
18 & Under XTERRA Real MTB Triathlon: $75 before 12/1/14, $90 until race day, $100 on race day
Relay Team: $130 early/$155 race day

Packet pick up: Race morning at race venue from 7 til 10am. 

Course Description:

Swim - The race starts with a half-mile swim in Folsom Lake, water temperature around 58 degrees. Wetsuits are permitted for all athletes.

Bike - The 16-mile bike course on single track trails around the lake is two loops with mixed terrain of single track, downhills, climbs, sand, and packed decomposed granite.

Run - The 4-mile run has a mix of trails and roads - along with some fun hills. There will be three aid stations with water and Gatorade, plus Powergel on the run course. One at mile 1, one at the turn-around point on the run course, and one at mile 2. ALL athletes must wear their race number on the front of their body during the run and have it when crossing the finish line.

Transition Area - The Transition area will be on a first-come basis, with the exception of Reserved Bike Racks for TRI Clubs. The transition area at all TBF Racing events is for athletes only. All non-athletes must remain outside of the transition area at all times on race day. Bodymarking will be take place at the entrance to the transition area and must be completed before you enter the transition area. Athletes will have their race number marked on their legs and arms and have their age division on their calf. Glass or bottles are not allowed in the transition area.

Divisions and Awards:

First place Overall Male and Female in the MTB Sprint Triathlon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards three deep in each ten-year age group for the Super Sprint MTB Triathlon. Relay Team awards will be for the Top three teams in each Division of Male, Female and Coed.

Equipment:

Expected water temperature for Folsom Lake will be 54-58 degrees. Wetsuits are strongly recommended. Swim fins and snorkels are not allowed. Helmets must be worn and buckled on the bike at all times. Run numbers must be worn on the run and when crossing the finish line. Listening devices of any kind: MP3, IPod, headphones, etc...are not allowed.

Competitor Goodies:

Included with your race entry is a custom tech-tee race shirt, athlete goody bag, post race hot meal, raffle prizes and awards five-deep in each age group.

Post Race Athlete Food:

Included for each competitor is a post race meal of hot pasta with salad, fruit, cookies and beverage.

Refund and Transfer Information:

TBF Racing has a no refund policy on all of our events. A refund requested prior to race week will be given a TBF Race credit for the amount of the entry fee minus a $25 processing fee. Credits are not given during race week. Transfers are allowed from one TBF Racing event to another within a one-year time frame. There is a $25 transfer fee. Transfers are not allowed during race week. ALL TBF Racing events are held rain or shine.

Volunteering:

Our Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program offers a chance to get involved with multi-sport events, have fun, and earn a $40 TBF Racing Volunteer voucher good towards entry fees at any of our events this year. Each volunteer shift is 4 hours. We ask volunteers to reserve a volunteer position at any of our events by emailing Teri@totalbodyfitness.com as our volunteer positions will fill up quickly.

Training and Coaching:

TBF Training provides group workouts and coaching for the sport of Triathlon along with individual Multi-sport Coaching and Personal Training.
